2017's Annual Bluegrass at the Ritz
Bluegrass at the Ritz honors Jake Landers, premier bluegrass songwriter and musician who co-founded The Dixie Gentlemen. Landers was one of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys and has played the Grand Ole Opry. Landers penned several hit songs including Walk Softly On this Heart of Mine that sold 22 million copies and was nominated for a Grammy Award. Jake holds the distinction of Music Achiever at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. He was inducted with the first class into the Alabama Bluegrass Hall of Fame.
This Year we also have the honor of hosting our headliner: The Claire Lynch Band.
Featuring performances by outstanding musicians who are recognized for their quality and their contributions to the preservation of Alabama’s and the region’s bluegrass, gospel and old time country musical traditions.

Long recognized and praised as a creative force in acoustic music, Claire Lynch is a pioneer who continually pushes the boundaries of the bluegrass genre. Her career has been decorated with many accolades including two Grammy Award nominations, six awards and the prestigious Walker Fellowship.
Co-Founder of the “Dixie Gentlemen”, Landers has performed with Bill Monroe’s “Blue Grass Boys” and at the Grand Ole Opry. He is an award-winning songwriter. “Walk Softly On This Heart of Mine” sold 22 million copies for the Kentucky Headhunters and was nominated for a Grammy for Ricky Skaggs and the Dixie Chics. Landers has been inducted into the Alabama Bluegrass Hall of Fame and recognized as a Music Achiever in the Alabamba Music Hall of Fame.
This group has a new sound for Bluegrass and they always perform with a spirit and sense of style that pays the most gratifying compliment to acoustic and bluegrass lovers; a warm mixture of family influence, belief in God, and an unwillingness to deny their creative urges.
A member of the Mississippi Musician's Hall of Fame and multiple Grammy-award winner. Jackson will be hosting our free songwriter workshop at 5 p.m. at the Ritz Annex, 109, W. Third St., Sheffield.
